Carles Murillo Fort. Professor of Applied Economics at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). Director of the Master in Sports Management and Management at the UPF Barcelona School of Management. President of the Spanish Society of Sports Economy (SEED). Coordinator of the Centre d'Estudios UPF Sports_Lab. Member of the Board of Directors of the cluster of the sports industry in Catalonia (Indescat). Author of several works in economics and sport management, the outstanding ones related to the measurement of the contribution of the sports sector to the Catalonian economy and the economic and social impact of sporting events (the last one being the World Roller Games in June 2019 in Barcelona).

The return to the recurrent endemism of the Cold War between the US and Russia would mark the beginning of the decline of the global economy.

Trump is quite concerned that Chinese companies acquire technological leadership.

This Chinese-American trade war may affect the operation of technology companies around the world.

Until a few decades ago it had been the main producer of both industrial inputs, but the growth of other countries, particularly China, was displacing it from that position.

It is no coincidence that Trump is imposing these protectionist measures abruptly, but is part of a series of more general sequence of events.
