Carmelo Mesa-Lago

Carmelo Mesa-Lago is a distinguished professor emeritus in economics and Latin American studies at the University of Pittsburgh; he has been visiting professor or researcher in 8 countries and lecturer in 39; He was founder and editor for 18 years of Cuban Studies, and is the author of 95 books and 318 scholarly articles published in 7 languages and 34 countries, half of them on the Cuban economy. His most recent book is 'Voces de cambio en el sector no estatal cubano' (Madrid, 2016). He has received the International Decent Work Award by the ILO (shared with Nelson Mandela) and selected among the 50 most influential Ibero-American intellectuals.
